Underdeveloped Commercial Properties

Otarre Development

Situated among beautiful forests and nature trails, the Otarre Development is adjacent to an area rich in historical and cultural significance. The property adjoins the future 12,000 Year History Park, which includes miles of existing trails associated with the Three Rivers Greenway system.

The Otarre Development is 280+ acres of land located directly off of Interstate 77 on 12th Street in the City of Cayce, minutes from Columbia, SC. The Otarre Development land is available for commercial development. Within Otarre Pointe are 299 luxury apartment homes, a state of the art public tennis and fitness center, and a Courtyard by the Marriott Hotel. Brickworks Development

Situated on Cayce’s main commercial corridor (Knox Abbott Drive) and along the Congaree River, the new Brickworks Development is 16.39 acres located conveniently at the Cayce and downtown Columbia border. This property provides a wonderful skyline view of our states capitol, beautiful scenery of the Congaree River, and serves as a welcome to the great commercial opportunities the City of Cayce has to offer.

The Brickworks site is rich in history. Built ca. 1900, this site served as home to the Guinyard Brick Works, which produced bricks for many buildings constructed in Columbia and throughout South Carolina from ca. 1900 through the mid-twentieth century. Today, the property is still home to the 4 original kilns used to manufacture the bricks.Currently, the Brickworks Development is home to a 3 story Southern First Bank, which also includes suites available to other businesses. In 2018, 186 luxury apartment homes will be constructed.

Saxe Gotha Industrial Park

Located on the City of Cayce border, the 160 acre Saxe Gotha Industrial Park serves as a new home for Amazon, Nephron Pharmaceuticals, and the SCANA Corporations Natural Gas Training Facility.

Façade Improvement Grant Program

The City of Cayce offers a Façade Improvement Grant Program to encourage the revitalization of and the reinvestment in three commercial corridors: Knox Abbott Drive, State Street, and Frink Street (from State Street to 12th Street). This program provides up to $4,000 in reimbursable grant funds to finance exterior improvements to a property owner or tenant's commercial building that will be aesthetically pleasing and complimentary to local design guidelines or concepts acceptable to the City. The program is designed to retain and attract businesses, strengthen the City’s commercial corridors, increase utilization of commercial buildings, restore economic vitality and enhance property values. This program is a 50/50 match reimbursement program and shall be administered on a first come first serve basis, until available funding is expended.

Airport Boulevard Corridor

Located adjacent to the Columbia Metropolitan Airport and directly off Interstate 26, just minutes from downtown Columbia, this corridor offers a mix of wholesale, retail, hotel, restaurants (dine in and carry out), and financial institutions.

Charleston Highway Corridor

Located off Interstate 26 and Interstate 77, this corridor offers a wide range of opportunities for travelers. With a great mix of restaurants, hotels, and general retail, this corridor serves not only residents of Cayce, but also visitors. This is a highly visible corridor with more growth opportunities available.

Knox Abbott Drive Corridor

Knox Abbott Drive is considered the main commercial corridor in the City of Cayce. This corridor is a perfect blend of retail, hotel, restaurants (both fast food & sit down), and financial institutions. Knox Abbott Drive also serves as a major beltway from the Columbia Metropolitan Airport to downtown Columbia and the City of West Columbia. Each day, many residents, visitors, and employees travel this corridor, making it a highly visible location for your business.

12th Street Corridor

Located off Interstate 77, this corridor is projected to see major development and growth over the next couple of years. Already serving as the new home for the SCANA Corporation Headquarters and Operations Center, this corridor is also the location of the Saxe Gotha Industrial Park, Otarre Development, the Cayce Tennis and Fitness Center, and the Cayce Municipal Complex.

Retail Trade Area Reports and Analysis
Accommodations Tax Application

Authorized under Chapter 4 of Title 6 of the South Carolina Code of Laws (“Code”), Accommodation Taxes of are collected by lodging facilities (i.e., hotels, motels, etc.) from individuals who spend one or more nights in their facilities. These tourism-related funds must then be used to promote tourism and enlarge the economic benefits of the area through advertising, promotion and providing those facilities and services that enhance the ability of the county or municipality to attract and provide for tourists. Collected funds are distributed to the respective counties and municipalities to determine the best use of these funds that meets the intent of the law. Applications for funds are submitted to the Cayce Accommodations Tax Advisory Committee for review. The Committee will then make allocation recommendations to Cayce City Council for final determination and approval. Eligible applicants include public and private not-for-profit organizations.
