Business Licenses

Before conducting business in the City of Cayce, we encourage you to call the Business License Office to discuss the requirements for obtaining a license. Our Business License Official can assist you with any questions you may have about rates or obtaining a business license. Any person responsible for the ownership or operation of a business in the City of Cayce, who is engaged or intending to engage in any calling, business, occupation or profession, is required to pay an annual license tax for the privilege of doing business and obtain a business license. This includes those businesses or professionals located outside the City of Cayce who conduct business within the corporate limits of Cayce.

If you plan to establish a new business in the City of Cayce, or have a change in ownership, you will first need to submit a completed Zoning Permit application. After zoning compliance is verified, the next step will be a Fire/Safety Inspection conducted by the Fire Marshall and Building Official. Once approval has been given to proceed, a business license can be obtained.

The City of Cayce uses the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) to classify business establishments based on the type of work being performed by that business. All required South Carolina Department of Labor, License and Regulation licensed contractors must purchase a vehicle sticker for each vehicle performing work at job sites. The cost of contractor vehicle stickers is $2.00 per vehicle.
