City of Cayce Holds Public Input Session for 2020 Comprehensive Plan

CAYCE, SC: The City of Cayce will hold a public input session for residents and businesses to provide their thoughts on the 2020 Cayce Comprehensive Plan.

The meeting will be held on August 13, 2019 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Steel Hands Brewing, located at 2350 Foreman Street in Cayce.

All local governments are mandated by law to have a Comprehensive Plan that outlines a long- range vision for growth, but those plans are often underutilized and not referenced. However, Cayce uses its Plan to guide growth, inform decision-making, measure accomplishments, address citizen needs and more.

Mayor Elise Partin stated, “In Cayce, putting the Comprehensive Plan on the shelf is not how we do business. The 2010 Comprehensive Plan was put together with substantial citizen input and has been reviewed and updated each year by Council and City staff to ensure we are staying consistent with the needs of our City.”

This is a true engagement session. The meeting is an opportunity for attendees to express how they would like to see Cayce grow in the future, while preserving what they think should be maintained. It will be interactive, with the goal of gaining input and insight from the Cayce’s valued citizens, businesses and visitors. So come prepared to share your thoughts about the City, which will be used to guide the development of the Plan and create a vision for our future.

Light refreshments and non-alcoholic beverages will be served. For more information, contact Cayce’s Planning Director, Carroll Williamson, at 803-550-9503 or cwilliamson@caycesc.gov. Visit our City website at www.caycesc.gov. You can also follow the City on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
