Cayce’s Mayor Pro Tem Selected as Vice President of the Lexington County Municipal Association

CAYCE, SC – Cayce City Councilman and Mayor Pro Tem, James “Skip” Jenkins, was recently selected by the Lexington County Municipal Association (LCMA) as their new Vice President. Jenkins was born and raised in Cayce and is the longest-serving member of Cayce City Council.

LCMA exists to bring together representatives from the fourteen municipalities in Lexington County to connect, to share ideas, and to support each other.

At the national level, Councilman Jenkins was previously appointed to the National League of Cities Public Safety and Crime Prevention Committee where he helped develop federal policies around important issues such as gun control and municipal fires. Locally, Jenkins serves on the Cayce Public Safety Foundation and as an Advisory Board Member to COMET, the region’s transit system.

In 2020, he retired from CMC Steel, one of Cayce’s largest local businesses, as the most tenured employee in the region with 46 years of dedicated service. He is a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church.
