Cayce Historical Museum to Host Juneteeth Program on June 20th

The Cayce Historical Museum’s Juneteenth Program will be held for the second year in a row on June 20 at the Cayce Historical Museum’s Visitor’s Center in Cayce, SC. The program, sponsored this year by the Cayce Historic Foundation, will begin at 11:00 AM and go until 1:00 PM in the afternoon.

The program with feature the Gye Nyame African Dance Group and an exhibit presented by Dr. Larry and Dr. Mattie Mack on African Americans from South Carolina who were in the American Revolution.

The Dance Group will perform from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. and will feature music, dancing, and commentary on African traditional dance. Their mission is to preserve and share the love of traditional West African dance.

The Exhibit will open from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM. There will be exhibit panels with information and artwork on the African American experience in South Carolina during the American Revolution. In this period of the 250th Anniversary of the American Revolution. Dr Larry and Dr. Mattie Mack will be there to offer additional information and commentary on the exhibit.
